2025 Ins and Outs: Curating a Year of Intentionality and Joy

Welcome to 2025—a year full of opportunities to live with intention and focus on what truly matters. As I think about how I want this year to look and feel, I’ve curated my list of “ins” and “outs.” Here’s what’s guiding me as I create a fresh start for the year ahead.

2025 Ins

1. Weekly Menu Planning

Taking the time to plan meals ensures I’m staying on track with my health goals. Additionally, it helps me cook through the many cookbooks I love and cherish! Like many, I enjoyed Ina Garten’s memoir in 2024. I was inspired to make every day meals elegant and my life more fabulous! I use the fine china. You should, too!

2. 10,000+ Steps Daily

Prioritizing movement throughout the day keeps my energy up and my mind clear. Thankfully, I have an energetic 2 year old golden retriever, Tiller Lakes, who LOVES to walk! He holds me accountable for getting those steps in. I have a walking pad for my office which has proven to be truly therapeutic.

3. Mouth Tape While Sleeping

It’s a small change, but it’s improving my sleep and breathing quality. I use the Skinny Confidential but there are many others on the market that have great reviews!

4. Ice Baths and Sauna

Leaning into health hacks that support both my physical and mental well-being has been a game changer. I bought an Ice Pod in 2024. Cold plunges have helped my headaches and amplified my productivity.

5. Weekly Reset Day

Dedicating one day each week to clean, plan, and reset sets me up for a productive week. I typically make this a Sunday or Monday depending on my schedule. It is a day I always look forward to!

6. Drinking Everything Out of Wine Glasses

Because life is worth celebrating, even with water or iced tea! I have collected so many beautiful hand-painted glasses. Why save them for a special occasion? I believe every day of my life is worth celebrating.

7. Voice Memos

Capturing thoughts, ideas, and reminders on the go is my new favorite tool. I also send voice memos to friends instead of texting. I find this is more personal and allows me to multitask.

8. Pink/Red/Coral Nails

Bright, happy colors are the vibe for 2025. I am LOVING the Celesty nail polish and gel top coat.

9. Hobbies

Carving out time for hobbies brings joy and balance to my life. Lately, I am into needlepoint and golf!

10. The Let Them Theory

Adopting a mindset of letting people do their thing without taking it personally or overanalyzing has changed the way I live my life.

11. Red Light Therapy Mask

Adding this to my skincare routine for a little extra glow and self-care has been a great change.

12. Homemaking

There’s something so fulfilling about creating a cozy, functional home. From trying new recipes to organizing spaces, homemaking has a special place in my heart this year. My mother has always been a great role model in homemaking. I like to think of her as Martha Stewart minus the jail time.

13. Tiller Time

Spending quality time with my golden retriever, Tiller, is an absolute must. Long walks, playtime, and cozy evenings together are all in for 2025. I can’t wait to introduce my readers and listeners to Tiller. I’m sure he will make sure he is heard on the podcast soon.

2025 Outs

1. Dehydration

Staying hydrated is a top priority—I’m ditching bad habits and keeping my water bottle close.

2. Caffeine Before Food or Water

It’s time to fuel my body properly before reaching for that morning energy. I also find that drinking water before I get out of bed wakes up my mind.

3. Busy Schedules

The “hustle” mentality is out. I’m building in space for rest and reflection.

4. Overthinking

This year, I’m focusing on action and letting go of the endless “what-ifs.”

5. Negative Energy

Anything that drains my peace or positivity has no place in my life.

6. High Screen Time

I’m cutting down on mindless scrolling and being more intentional with my time online. I am replacing scrolling with reading through my library and needlepoint.

7. Minimalism

While simplicity is great, I’m embracing cozy, personalized spaces over the starkness of minimalism. I never liked it. Sorry not sorry!

8. Waking Up and Scrolling

I’m ditching the habit of reaching for my phone first thing in the morning and starting my day with purpose. I am much more productive when I wake at 5am and do not touch my phone until 8 or 9am.

9. Toxic Timelines

Whether it’s social media or life expectations, I’m letting go of anything that feels forced or toxic. I am rewriting my life and living my dream!

10. Too Much Sugar

I’m choosing foods that nourish me, with less focus on sugary snacks and drinks.

2025 is all about balance, joy, and intentional living. These “ins and outs” are my roadmap for building a year that feels aligned with who I am and what I want to create.

What are your ins and outs for the year? Let’s make 2025 our best yet!
